… is a land of culinary and cocktail delights. We recently made the short drive down to San Antonio for what can only be described as a magical evening of deliciousness – both in flavors and in company – at The Grille at Westin La Cantera. Chef John R Herdman and Mixologist Robert Millican teamed up to pair incredible Tito’s cocktail creations with delectable dishes and the result was nothing less than extraordinary. Take a look at these amazing photos (all courtesy of Chef John R Herdman) and we guarantee they’ll get your creative juices flowing. Enjoy!!

First Course
Caviar, smoked bellini, creme fraiche, torched onion cotton candy and magenta lace. Paired with an ice cold shot of Tito’s Handmade Vodka served neat. A perfect pair!

Second Course
A new take on salad that takes it to a whole new level. Crispy egg, compressed root vegetables, cucumber, petite lettuces, mushroom, white balsamic, and an edible “floral arrangement.” Paired with one of the most innovative cocktails we’ve had – Tito’s infused with smoked chicken, lemon rind, and black peppercorn served as a chilled martini. So delicious …

Third Course
Char-grilled quail, roasted hen of the woods mushrooms, bacon & jalapeno custard, and bbq demi. Paired with the Persian Cocktail (perhaps our favorite of the night) – Tito’s with honey, lemon, mind, and saffron-rose foam. Whoa mamma!

Fourth Course
A little mountain of pure delight. Short ribs with horseradish pomme puree, petite mustard greens, red pepper honey, and gremolata. The red pepper honey is one of the most astonishingly delicious things we’ve ever had!! This gem was paired with an equally incredible cocktail called the English Gentleman – Tito’s infused with cucumber and “gin” herbs, blended with vermouth, fig balsamic, and pink peppercorn. Truly unforgettable.

Fifth Course
Showing ever more ingenuity in presentation, Chef Herdman presented this pavlova as a fresh egg cracked open to display its yummy yellow inside. Meringue shell with passion fruit dry ice sorbet and blueberry coulis. Paired with the extraordinary Blueberry Chipotle Sour – a sweet and spicy infusion of Tito’s served on the rocks. A perfect end to a perfect evening.
