Gluten-Free Chef Series featuring Chef Daniel Olivella
The Tito’s Handmade Vodka & Blackbird Bakery Chef Series kick off is this week! Join us this Thursday, on May 26th, for a gluten free feast with Chef Daniel Olivella at Barlata Tapas Bar in Austin, Texas.
This is the first event in what will be an ongoing series co-created by two Gluten-Free Austin originals, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Blackbird Bakery, to celebrate the Gluten-Free culinary movement, and showcase the expansive and delicious possibilities of this cutting edge cuisine.
For one night only, Barlata will be converting 5 tapas and 2 desserts from the menu to gluten-free using Blackbird Bakery’s award winning flour blends while Tito’s will be pairing the dinner with 3 custom cocktails. Reserve your seat now!
Here’s a sneak peek of one of the Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails in the evening line-up, The Cougar. This zesty, refreshing drink is the creation of Barlata’s own Ryan Cougs.
The Cougar
- 1.5 oz cucumber and black pepper infused Tito’s Handmade Vodka
- 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
- 3-4 dashes cucumber bitters
- Ginger beer
Build in a collins glass over ice in the order listed, topping with ginger beer.
The Orchid
- 1.5oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka
- 0.5oz agave nectar
- 0.5oz lime juice
- 0.5oz grapefruit juice
- Topo Chico
- fresh grapefruit
In a cocktail shaker, muddle a wedge of fresh grapefruit. Add vodka, agave, lime juice, ice and shake. Strain into rocks glass over ice and top with Topo Chico.
