This Halloween weekend is the inaugural Mala Luna Music Festival in San Antonio! Since this is our man Tito’s hometown, and just down the road from where we distill and bottle Tito’s Handmade Vodka, we wanted to do something to celebrate. We’re hosting a furriendly Vodka for Dog People competition to determine the Official Cocktail of Mala Luna and raise funds for the San Antonio Humane Society. We challenged a few bars and restaurants around the historic Pearl Brewery to create festival friendly sips with only a few simple rules:

1. Use Tito’s Handmade Vodka as the base
2. Choose a canine inspired cocktail name
3. Create a recipe that quenches a crowd of thirsty festival-goers

Through the entire month of September, visit the locations below to sample the contending cocktails. $1 from each of these competing canine cocktails will be donated to the San Antonio Humane Society, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka will match that donation up to $10,000.

The recipes will be unveiled all month long on Tito’s and SAHS social, so stock the bar and tune in!

About the San Antonio Humane Society: 

The San Antonio Humane Society (SAHS) is a nonprofit, no-kill organization that has served Bexar County and its surrounding areas since 1952. Every year, the SAHS shelters, medically treats, and rehabilitates approximately 5,000 animals. Many have been injured, abused, surrendered by their owners, or found as strays, and they remain in the care of the SAHS until adopted.  Their mission is to protect and improve the lives of dogs and cats by providing shelter, care, adoption, rescue, spay and neuter programs, and community education.  Therefore, through the volunteer, foster, and educational programs provided by the SAHS, the public is reminded of the importance of responsible pet ownership, microchipping, and spaying/neutering.

While many believe that the SAHS is affiliated with and receives funds from the Humane Society of the United States, this is not the case. Therefore, donating locally helps solve a local problem.
