Coffee Liqueur
Step One:
- 2 quarts water (8 cups)
- 1 lb ground coffee beans
- 2 whole vanilla beans – split down the middle
Bring water to boil then add your favorite freshly ground coffee. Boil 3 – 4 minutes and add split vanilla beans. Remove from heat, and let the coffee continue to brew overnight.
Step Two:
- 5 cups sugar (can also try a combo of 3 cups brown and 2 cups white)
- 4 cups water
While the coffee is doing it’s thing, add water and sugar to another pot. Let boil for about 10 minutes until sugar mixture becomes syrupy. Let syrup cool and store in refrigerator overnight.
Step Three:
- 1 liter Tito’s Handmade Vodka
- 2 tsp real vanilla extract
Strain coffee grounds through cheese cloth, removing as much grit as possible. Combine strained coffee and syrup, adding Tito’s Handmade Vodka plus vanilla extract. Mix well. Your coffee liqueur is ready to enjoy, but the flavors really do get better with time – 1-2 months should do the trick!
