Tito Teams Up with Sun Records Again for Record Store Day
Record Store Day, always the third Saturday in April (April 18th this year!), is a global organization founded in 2007 with the goal of revitalizing and celebrating independent, brick and mortar music stores all over the world. We are proud to team up with the iconic Sun Records label for the second year to present Vol. 2 of the Sun Records compilation project! This limited edition Record Store Day release includes tracks from James Cotton, Howlin’ Wolf, Earl Hooker and other Sun Records artists, selected and curated by real live record store workers. Here’s what Tito himself has to say:
“Hi. I’m Tito Beveridge and I’m the founder, owner, and master distiller of Tito’s Handmade Vodka. We are very excited to once again partner with the greatest independent record label ever founded, Sun Records. Sun Records is known around the world for discovering artists such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Rosco Gordon, and Carl Perkins — pretty good company to keep.
Music has always been an important part of my life, and has become an important part of my company as well. Tito’s Handmade Vodka was born in Austin, Texas, the Live Music Capital of the World, and we continue to distill and bottle every drop down here, so it makes sense that music would be in our blood.
As a local business owner, I love supporting other local businesses. Record Store Day and Sun Records have once again given me the chance to support both with this awesome compilation. I am honored to be able to help this collection, with some of my favorite artists, see the light of day. Big thanks go out to Sun Records, Record Store Day, and all the small record store businesses out there for allowing me to be a part.
Cheers!”
