There’s something about Far West Texas. Heat shimmering on endless highways, beautiful, dangerous flora that thrives in the desert, colossal mountains (did you know that there are mountains in Texas?!) and perfect geometric patterns etched into the landscape, swirling dust from unpaved roads, relentless sun, cool dark, dark nights punctuated by stars and occasional headlights – these things create a kind of enchantment that we just can’t shake. For all of these reasons, it is one of Tito’s personal favorite places for a getaway. In fact, everyone who’s been under the spell of the West Texas desert has a story; some kind of life changing adventure to tell again and again, or secret cut throughs and can’t miss stops along the way.

We’re readying ourselves for the trip from Austin to Alpine again this week as we head west for Viva Big Bend, a music festival with a lineup of really talented Texas artists playing all kinds of music. Shows and events will be taking place all weekend long in Alpine, Fort Davis, Marfa, and Marathon, and we’re excited to be participating!
